Some would say it’s money, some say it’s via the stomach, some say it’s kids (then they say their kids make them miserable, ha ha), some say it’s a new car, shoes, hairdo, etc. etc. etc. Having ‘stuff’ might provide a short-term fix (like a sugar fix creates a spike in energy and mood but then a crash and desire for more afterwards) but it doesn’t create the long term secret to happiness; happiness has to be created from within us. Undoubtedly our environment and relationships play a big part but if that were the key then all of us who have a home, friends and family would always be happy. There are many parts to creating happiness from within and having stuff is a tiny fraction (if it’s necessary at all). I will suggest just two today for you to focus on.
Firstly, doing for others! Even simple gestures of kindness performed without the expectation of anything in return, significantly boosts mood. Something as simple as popping a few coins in a charity box, tipping your server after a coffee, holding open a door, giving up your seat, smiling and saying good morning (remember last week’s poem). Checking up on a friend and so on can make a huge difference to someones day, especially yours!
Secondly, look after your health. It’s very difficult to be happy when you are unwell or have illness, so make it your priority above everything else. Even if you are a parent or have an important job, people are depending upon you! So for whatever reason you can think of for not taking immediate and consistent action regarding your mental and physical health and well-being, nothing is as important as you are! Remember what the air steward tells us: “in the event of an emergency put on your own oxygen mask before helping others”. You can’t be effective at your job/role if you are sick and/or depressed. I firmly believe that I honour my precious gift of life, and my purpose to help others with theirs, by doing what I can to be healthy and happy as a priority. My oxygen mask is on!
This week I have lots of news for you, including class news, so please read on (or you won’t know what’s happened or going to happen) and share!

And Finally
Lots of folks have the lergies and so I’m working hard to keep myself healthy and virus free as follows:
Hourly hand washing and using anti-bac hand gel.
Not touching handrails, lift buttons door handles etc. with my bare hands and avoiding touching my face.
Drinking hot water lemon and honey throughout the day (2 litres of it!).
2 teaspoons of coconut oil in my food.
Echinacea
Extra Vitamin C
Opening windows in between clients and wiping down all surfaces with anti bacterial wipes plus spraying room with anti-abc spray.
8 hours of sleep.
Staying away from those I know who have the lergies.
No snogging !!!!
Hopefully that will do the trick, you try it!
Have a fab week and remember,
I love ya.
Helen x
