It’s so good to be back to class and the energy, effort and enthusiasm was fantastic in all the classes as well as with our one to one work too. The sense of fresh starts, rejuvenation and renewed focus is palpable!
How did you get on with last week’s Coffee Break Catch Up challenge, which is to drink more water, get more sleep and be active every day! I recommend that you choose to do something you enjoy and it’s so much easier to stay motivated – persistence brings results.
The Commitments!
Just a quick word about commitment. Over the past week I have chatted with clients about how they want to make the most of our time together in sessions and when they are out and about ‘doing life’! I sometimes hear them say “I should”, “I could”, “I must”, “I have to” and “I will give it a go”. Firstly, until I hear them say “I want to” and “I will” and “I shall”, I’m concerned that they are not 100% committed to the belief that they want to or can succeed at the change, challenge etc. that they embark upon. You see, our language gives us away when we use these words – they suggest that we lack belief, desire or commitment to do what it takes and sustain the actions required. So practice using positive, ‘can do’, and ‘will do’ language and thoughts and you will succeed (as long as the strategy and actions you adopt and take are appropriate).
You know I’m here to assist with choosing true goals, creating the strategies and the actions necessary to get there!
Purposeful Actions
Humans are incredible and when we have a strong purpose and reason to take action we can achieve amazing things, for good and bad. The horrendous events in Paris last week are shocking and illustrate that if people have a powerful belief/goal they can do the most extraordinary (appalling) things. If you narrow your focus 3 men held Paris in fear, causing Parisians to hide away, to stop living their life the way they want to and you could believe that all men are evil/powerful. Broaden your view point and you will see that 1000’s of brave police officers, medics and other emergency service men and women risked their own safety to protect and serve, displaying the same determination and belief in their values belief and goals (to return Paris to a safe, free city). Broaden your view further and you will see more than a million people gathering in Paris on Sunday holding hands in support of freedom from fear and oppression. 3 dangerous misguided men versus millions who are brave enough to speak out and take action for good; it changes our perspective doesn’t it?
Whilst reading my next point please don’t think I’m making comparisons in terms of gravity! I think that we might do the same when dealing with ours/others actions in everyday life and it affects how we view our own efforts to proceed positively e.g., we say we want to be fitter, healthier, slimmer more healthy etc. and rather than keeping a broad view point on the many, many positive reasons why making changes to achieve these outcomes is the best way forward, we allow one/few small obstacles to become our main focus and reason why we don’t move forward towards our goals. If you truly want something you will overcome obstacles to achieve it! So don’t kid yourself when you don’t move forward – if you don’t take the necessary steps required to achieve your goals it’s often because you have allowed the narrow perspective to dominate your thoughts and actions; that’s a choice. If you want it, you can and will make it happen!
“If you think you can then you can, if you think you can’t then you can’t – either way you are probably right”
So how are you going to take action to move towards your goals today, tomorrow and the day after?
Unique and Purposeful
Remember, I have created a PT and Group exercise class schedule to accommodate your health and fitness requirements, to accommodate differing preferences, needs and levels and to do so specifically for you! I don’t buy in pre set or choreographed classes or PT packages because I have studied extensively, and continue to do so, to posses the knowledge and skills to meet the needs and wants of my fitness family! It’s my pleasure (purpose) to do so, and I have strongly held values/beliefs that is best way for you, this is why I work so hard rather than jumping on the fads and band wagons that would make my life easier (I choose to take to the bigger perspective).
So if you are a beginner, returner, have injuries, challenges, love to dance (but don’t know how) or hate it, you are an aspiring athlete or just want to be a bit fitter, firmer and so on, check out the time table or contact us for one to one or small group sessions. We can also help you with sports massage and Life coaching/NLP.
Spread the word guys – you are our best adverts for what we do, how we do it and why.
Have a fantastic week and remember to keep your thoughts and actions positive and purposeful.
Love ya,
Helen
