Despite the cost, the cues, the traffic, the delays etc. many of us take a summer holiday at home or abroad. We all enjoy relaxing in different ways and many an eyebrow is raised as I describe my perfect holiday when I mention that I take exercise every day. You see I like to feel fit, healthy and mobile and without my daily exercise I feel stiff, lethargic and frankly a bit grumpy. It doesn’t have to be hardcore to be what I need – I mix a bit of running with swimming, cycling (if bikes are available) lots of my own contemporary stretch style exercise, massages, sleep, water and rest. I will use a gym if it’s too hot to exercise outside and I always take a resistance band, chi ball, skipping rope and my ‘Grid’ just incase I have a private space to do my own thing (or if the Gym is a bit rubbish). I regard my holiday as a way to restore my wellbeing, I want to return home well rested and rejuvenated. I expect others to holiday the way they want to and I don’t have any opinion about their choices, so it amazes me that others feel strongly about my choice, but guess what, I couldn’t care less?

So if you are having a holiday I wish you a wonderful time doing exactly what is right for you! Read on for Summer Class schedule changes, news about an exciting special event and a fabulous tasty and yet healthy snack!

Karen’s tasty Kale crisps!

I was recently hanging out with Karen Smith when I tried some Kale crisps and was really surprised by how tasty they are, she told me how to prepare them and I can’t believe how easy it is! (it reminds me of crispy seaweed from the Chinese restaurant). Kale is soooooo good for you. It’s a vegetable that is packed full of essential vitamins A, C and K as well as minerals like copper, potassium, iron, manganese and phosphorus. A cup of fresh kale has only about 40 calories but packs almost 3 grams of protein! I’m not a fan of boiled greens but this is so fabulous, I had to share It with you, enjoy

Ingredients

1 bunch kale

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner. Drizzle kale with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt.Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt (10 to 15minutes).

Serve warm. Enjoy as a snack or as a vegetable with dinner!

Have a wonderful week and remember to book your 1 to 1 sessions, sports massages and classes to ensure your place.
