Whatever your opinion about the Monarchy I’m pretty certain that we all agree that our Queen is in fantastic ‘nick’ for a 90 year old! I often hear folks say that if they had the Queen’s money, or the wealth of Madonna, Cher etc. etc. etc. then they would be in great shape too! Now I know that the latter two ladies mentioned are not unfamiliar with the cosmetic surgeon’s knife or needle but our dear Queenie is definitely ‘au natural! Celebrities often do succumb to cosmetic surgery (as indeed do non-celebs) but you can’t escape the negative effects of inactivity and a poor diet, too much booze, too little sleep and too much stress. Eventually these lifestyle choices will catch up with your health and looks. We’ve lost many wealthy celebrities this year at relatively young ages, so their wealth didn’t protect them from an early demise!
Our Queen, and others who achieve great age whilst maintaining a good quality of health and wellness, is known to enjoy a rural and active life with lots of dog walks, and she still rides her horse regularly. She used to dance the night away in her younger years (and I’d love to think of her still cutting a rug with Prince Philip behind those castle walls). I understand that she eats small portions and so doesn’t overindulge and she doesn’t smoke or drink (unlike her younger sister Margaret who over indulged regularly as a heavy smoker and drinker and she was very ill in the later stages of her life and didn’t achieve the great age of her own mother or sister). Our Queen also illustrates how keeping mentally active and having purpose keeps us young in heart and mind too. Eating well and being active daily isn’t expensive, however drinking alcohol and smoking is, watching lots of tv, playing computer/mobile phone games for short periods is not going to cause most of us a problem but lots of people who say they don’t have time to exercise, shop for or prepare good food, go to bed at a reasonable time, play with their kids and so on, often spend many hours a day sitting looking at a screen!
Our health and appearances are directly affected by what we do (exercise, sleep, stress) and how we eat (food quality, quantity, booze, water etc.) irrespective of how wealthy we are! So to feel like a Queen/King, live like one and use our Queen as your role model. Happy 90th Birthday your Majesty.

Loo Roll Centres
Sarah and her Liberty gymnasts need your cardboard inners from your loo rolls please – they will be put to good use, but it’s top secret!
Help Daisy make a difference!
Our Daisy is running to raise money for Crisis, a charity for the homeless.
Running isn’t a dancers’ favourite thing to do so if you can spare a few pennies it will make it all worth her while.

Suggestions!
I need your help to make our classes perfect for you! It’s sometimes difficult to create unique and original classes that meet your needs, especially if you don’t tell me what you love, hate, want, need etc. I regularly ask at class but rarely get any response so please take a minute out of your day to drop me a line (via email) with your feedback requests and suggestions. Thanks x

Thanks to Class member Cary for telling me about this recipe. You’re gonna love it!
Get this stuff…
4½ cups fresh Honeydew melon (approx. 1 honeydew), cubed
1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
¼ cup honey
¼ cup water
Then do this…
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
*Place the cubed melon onto the baking sheet, leaving space in between the cubes to allow for even freezing and ensuring they don’t stick together.
*Place the tray into the freezer overnight, or until completely frozen (4-6 hours).
*Place the frozen honeydew into a food processor (or your nutribullet), along with the lemon juice, honey, and water, and pulse until the honeydew becomes crumbly. You may need to add more water until the mixture becomes more fluid, but not slushy. You’re looking for a soft sorbet texture at this point.
* Add any additional honey mixture to taste
Serve immediately, maybe add some fresh raspberries for colour and taste!
Can be stored in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Love ya,
Helen x
