The Sun has got his hat on – again – and I’m singing away (for the sake of your ears, thankfully this is not a video blog!) as I sit and write this to you. I’m going to get a quick walk in the sun to boost my mood as soon as I’ve finished! Dr. Hilary was talking about beating the winter blues on the telly this morning (I wonder if he’s been reading my blogs, ha ha); the good Dr. and I are singing from the same hymn sheet! Anyway, we both recommend lots of sunshine/daylight and fresh air, so get out at some point during the day (especially if you go to work and come home in the dark!), drink lots of water, take daily exercise, eat wholesome foods and keep starch and sugars low, have a regular bed and wake time, get your 8 hours a night – and I would add, plan to mix with pals and have plenty of laughs everyday!
Those of you, who attend the same classes as Cara M-H will have noticed how successful she has been at losing excess weight (3 stone!) and at keeping it off too! Cara has consistently cut down on starch and sugar in her diet, eaten protein at every meal and attends 3-4 classes a week plus one PT session. It’s simple isn’t it, to be active. Always do what you enjoy most of the time (mind you, I know weights isn’t her favourite but we all need it though!). Cara has shared with us her recipe for Celeriac chips, she loves them and they are lower in starch than Potato.
Well Done
to Sarah and her Liberty Gymnasts on their excellent results in The Flair gymnastics event on Sunday. Check out Sarah hanging out with TV show ‘Tumble’ Judge, Craig Heap!
FFY
Freestyle Fitness Yoga Class on Monday was a big hit and I’m very thankful for the wonderful feedback I’ve had regarding this class. Several of you have asked for yoga blocks and I will place an order for these and any other equipment requests on Tuesday so get your order in for anything ‘small exercise equipment’ related by Tuesday lunch time.
Power Step
Is also a fantastic success and we had all Steps taken on Friday! If you wish to attend, you really do need to book ahead, if you don’t I’m concerned we won’t be able to accommodate you and you will be disappointed. If you haven’t booked by Friday, phone ahead before leaving for class.
Christmas Boogie Wonderland
Our Christmas Party class is on Tuesday 16th December at 7.30pm and we are taking bookings now. £10 paid by 30th November, (£15 after that time) £5 to Monthly members. Guests are welcome.

Festive Timetable
I’m happy to organise classes on the Monday and Tuesday before Christmas if we have sufficient interest and will bring ‘sign up’ sheets to class so you can let me know which classes you would like to attend.
Turkey Trotters
I’ve had a request for another Social Walk over Christmas – I thought the morning of Boxing day would be a great way to get some fresh air, exercise and some space from irritating family members!! (or you can bring the ones you are enjoying the company of, ha ha) let me know if you are up for it!
Cara’s Low Starch Chips
2 large celeriac (1.3kg/3lb total weight)
3-4 tbsp groundnut or vegetable oil
1 tbsp mild curry powder
Top and tail and remove tough skin from celeriac.
Slice into thick chips (about thumb sized).
Blanche in boiling water for 2mins
Drain back and throw back into pan and add oil and curry powder (I’m going to try paprika) and coat chips evenly.
Spread on baking tray and cook in pre heated oven (230c/Gas8 /210) for 30-35 mins.
Have a wonderful week; see you at class and training.
Love Ya,
Helen x
