President Obama exercises 5 times per week – I think he looks fit too. Now how can little old me complain about not having enough time to train and eat well when the most powerful man in the free world (who is probably quite busy!!!) can get organised and make it happen?

If we are honest, what we usually mean when we say we are too busy is that we are making other things more of a priority than our health, wellness and fitness or we can’t be bothered! It reminds me of an expression…

“If you are to busy to make time to exercise and eat healthily, you had better be prepared to make time to be sick!”

Well yes, I recently had to make time to be sick and I’m cross with myself for it. As much as I love you all and what I do, I love being healthy, fit and well even more and I had put my work ahead of my health. How often do you do that?

You see, we get the fitness and figure we are prepared to train for – no if’s, but’s or maybe’s. You have the choice. Now you can obviously join our fab classes or personal training sessions for well structured, balanced, effective and fun fitness and you can train at home, in a gym or go for a bike ride, swim or walk. You can play with your kids/dogs in the park or play sports, put on your favourite music and dance in your sitting room. We have amazing open spaces locally where we can get fresh air and exercise for free. There are various ways to train, longer steady state sessions of 60 minutes or shorter more intense sessions of 20 minutes or mega tough intervals such as those in Tabata training (8 x 20 seconds of high intensity effort with 10 second recovery periods) and you are done in 4 minutes, with a warm up and cool down either side!

You don’t need lots of extra time, you need to allocate time.

There are 24 hours in a day, that’s 168 hours in a week, we are advised to do a minimum of 3hrs of cardio work per week for health benefits and disease prevention that’s less than 2% of your week! Only 2% of your week to make you feel and look better and most importantly keep you healthy!

Take it in……..now take action and share it with all those you love and care about.
