‘Phew’, I had a horrid feeling that Reggie and Bollie were going to win X factor last night but thankfully true talent in the shape of Louisa won through. After a sigh of relief (that the British public hadn’t gone completely mad) I noted that the week before we were cheering the winner of ‘I’m A celebrity’ and that next week it will be the ‘Strictly’ champion. Winners today are soon cast aside for the next glorious ‘famous for 5 minutes’ celebrity.
Is it ‘cos I have recently had a birthday or does celebrity come and go so quickly?
That which what was en vogue, in fashion and cutting edge yesterday is so ‘over’ today. I find it unsettling and prefer to attach my ‘colours’ to that which is proven to do me good, provide ongoing entertainment, support, nourishment and so on. I choose to give my loyalty to those people, local shops, suppliers and service providers who have taken the time and effort to get to know me, and serve me well. Don’t get me wrong I like to see and try new things if I regard them as quality and of substance, not plastic, transient and disposable.
I look at the many long-standing relationships that I have with my DYBO family, (class members, clients, colleagues and suppliers) and start to smile from my heart outwards, as I know you all so well. I enjoy our friendship, rapport, respect and trust, it’s very important to me personally and brings the best out in me professionally too.
