This picture speaks to me and is exactly what we all need to do at the moment.
In my work and daily life (and for me too) this uncertain time with the associated angry debates shakes our foundations and certainty. Lots of us are finding that our mood and motivation is low, trust and tolerance is waning, leaving room for suspicion and isolation. No matter how many tiffs these penguins have, when it gets tough they pull together.
What if we all did this?
What if we came together to support each other, when one of us feels weak, low or isolated they can be supported by the strength of others.
I know that some of my DYBO family are having a difficult time, I am too!
Together we can get through this, we can encourage and support each other free from judgment and with plenty of laughter.
Research (and our own experience) tells us that exercise and movement – especially combined with the uplifting effects of music and the social support of others we know and trust, reduces stress and anxiety, lifts mood, boosts our self-esteem, sense of belonging and support. Stress is one of the worst things for our long term physical and mental health it will reduce the quality of our lives, our relationships at home and at work and our productiveness.
In world rankings (taken in 2017)presented in 2016 of the world’s healthiest countries the top 5 were Italy, Iceland, Switzerland, Singapore, and Australia. The deciding factors included health and disease, life expectancy, pollution, poverty, exercise and activity.
The UK came in at 23rd (USA didn’t make the top 25).
I wonder if we would be further down the list at present!
The Mediterraneans have lots of social gatherings, get out of the house, have many siestas, dance and take lots of exercise, they love good food cooked from fresh and sit down together to eat it. They work hard, have a nap in the afternoon and go out to play in the evening. Sounds great doesn’t it?
We can do this (instead of a nap, a 10 minute meditation, ‘fresh air’ walk away from your computer and desk can do wonders)
Remember me and the DYBO family are here to support each other, get sweaty, be fit and have fun!

9 foods that reduce Anxiety
The following foods are recommended to help reduce stress. I think dark chocolate is wishful thinking and it does say ‘perceived’ stress. However these are all gut friendly (90% of our happy hormone, seratonin is produced in the gut). How about a lovely veggie curry with turmeric or an omelette? You could half-dunk Brazil nuts in high cocoa chocolate and snack one with a cup of Camomile tea!
