Valentine’s Day is often a significant date for many people – we create a whole bunch of beliefs (about ourselves) based upon how many (if any) cards and gifts we get. We often value ourselves and our lovability on how others choose to demonstrate their appreciation of us. The trouble with that strategy is we all have a different weighting for how we demonstrate love and how we calibrate that weighting. How do we know how to measure love? We often compare how others are ‘loved’ to how we perceive we are loved, and rather like the grass is greener on the other side, we assume that they are loved more which makes them better (more loveable than us), or maybe we no longer receive the grand gestures previously shown to us and therefore we are less loveable!  Love is a feeling, it can’t be measured! How we value ourselves based upon how someone else demonstrates their appreciation is a flawed strategy and not congruent with taking control of our mental/physical well being. Accept love from everyone who chooses to love you in any and every way they give it; give love freely and unconditionally to all. Your focus is for yourself (your wellbeing) and those most important to you; they and you deserve your attention, yet we are capable of loving (in a different way) our wider friendship groups, our community, fellow mankind, animals, environment and planet and we can illustrate this with our actions and deeds in the simplest of ways such as smiling and being kind towards each other, donating our time, our unneeded/wanted items to friends/charity, recycling and wasting less, picking up litter and turning lights off, heating down and so on. It’s quite simple and easy to do. When we give love, we feel better, so give love and feel love! I say ‘love ya’ at the end of every weekly coffee break catch up, and yes, I genuinely mean it!

This week I have included an article I published four years ago about caring for your heart, please read it and share it with everyone you know to help as many people as we can be well informed about heart health! We have news about half term classes, our next ‘Independance Day’ our new Friday course, Presenting news and a ‘heart healthy’ recipe so grab a cuppa and read on (and remember to share the love by sharing this catch up!

It’s half term and all classes are running as usual except there is no class on Friday (I’m taking the day off to rest relax and chill!)

The next Friday course is ‘Big Balls and What To Do With Them!’ Remember, for safety and effectiveness, numbers are limited – first come (with firm and paid for booking) first served!
