Here at DYBO HQ we have continued everyday to evolve and improve how we deliver the online classes, personal training and Grid/ trigger point massage sessions.

The feedback has been that the sound quality is much better and for those who have plugged their laptops/tablets or phones into the TV, the sound and picture is great and an even just a speaker really does improve sound quality. Many clients have commented on how they have enjoyed chatting and catching up with everyone before the session starts plus the individualised coaching and motivation (nagging) being offered!!!

It looks like this is how we will be continuing for quite some time, so creating some space in your schedule and organising your environment so you can get the best from your fitness and dance classes will certainly be important for maintaining your mental and physical well being going forward – particularly if we go into total lockdown (and please remember your family, living with you, are welcome to join us too). In fact I think we can also extend our offer of classes and training to friends and family else where, so feel free to share with your friends and loved ones outside of our current DYBO community. We already have participants joining us from London, Swindon, the Midlands and this week, the USA.

Step Class

I have had several requests for a Wednesday evening Step class so let’s give it a go this week, 1st April, 6.30pm -7.15pm before Barre Fit. Let me know if you want to join me and if you need to come and borrow a Step

My style is very much simple and Step  focused – also known as Original Step. I will of course respond to the needs and requests of the attendees as always.

Thank you for supporting our Online classes and training – I promise I am doing my very best for you. You loyalty, commitment  and friendship at this difficult time makes all the hard work worthwhile.

I have a request ….please get organised before your session in terms of environment, equipment and being in the best space with a full view of me and me of you ( as close to as possible), I really do recommend you try to plug your laptop etc. into the TV or a set of speakers – more tips below.

I have ordered a signal booster for the gym (we have super fast broadband already but every little add on helps) however very occasionally, at busy times, WiFi ‘drop out’ may occur but I’m usually back with you within a minute, so hang on and keep going!

Why I’ve chosen Zoom and not Facebook Live
Zoom allows me to see you, where as on ‘Facebook live’ you can only see me and I would have no idea how you were doing and if you are safe and getting an effective workout, The sound and picture is good for FB live but I really do want to see you. We can have it as a back up if Zoom goes down so please join our private Facebook group ( DYBO Participants) and if Zoom goes down I would use it as back up. You can just join that group and apart from friending me you don’t need to friend anyone else if you are not a Face book Fan.

How to prepare your environment

1. You need space to move 2 side steps, 4 walks forward, 4 backward. Move trip hazards and furniture as much as you can (get help, be careful!) to give you maximum space for upper and lower body movement. Roll up rugs or secure them so they don’t slip or cause you to trip.

2. Plugging your device in to your TV with an HDMI cable is brilliant as it gives you a good picture of you (like a mirror) and me – as well as boosting the sound if you go through the TV/Hi-Fi sound system. If you can place your device under the TV, then even better.

3. I know some of you are using your phones – try to plug in to a speaker system (even those little speakers we have when we go on holiday would help) so that you can hear better as you move back from the phone. I don’t know if any one has tried blue tooth earphones yet, let me know if they are helpful.

4. Ensure you have maximum access to your WiFi in the house and as close to the router as is feasible. Take phones off the WiFi system and pop them on to your 4/5G network or place on airplane mode. Ask family to do the same for the duration of your class, keep them off the internet whilst you need the bandwidth. The more bandwidth you have, the better the picture and sound and the less likely you are to lose the feed. Your health is a priority at this time and I’m sure they can do something else for that short time!

5. Ventilate your exercise space, have plenty of water and towels to hand, keep your exercise equipment close – if you need anything, let me know. I have Steps and skipping ropes here that I can lend you plus 8 x resistance bands, cut longer (£6) and loops (£4) in stock plus one stability ball (£20 size 53cm) and Chi Balls (£12). I can get more .

6. Wear correct footwear for your activity – putting an old pair of socks over the toes and ball of your trainers will help reduce friction when exercising on carpet (if they are a really old pair, cutting the toes open and then just having them over the ball of the foot is even better). It’s up to you if you want to dance or train in bare feet but be careful if you don’t usually do this as it takes time for the muscles and connective tissue of the feet and rest of the body to adapt to bare foot training.

7. Make your own gym equipment. Save laundry liquid or milk bottles – you can fill them with water or wet sand/rice etc. to add weight and make a dumbbell/kettlebell. I recommend you make a few in differing weights and you have written on them so you know what they weigh and seal the caps with tape to prevent leakage. Get a heavy duty shopping bag and put weighty items in it, check they can’t fall out and you have a kettlebell alternative. Make your own hurdles, put cushions, pillows, boxes, books on the floor to jump over. Use household items as floor markers for circuit activities. The stairs and out door steps are great temporary steps/benches for cardio and upper body work. The garden is a great open space to make an assault course or if you can get a signal take your class or PT session outside, but do make it safe.

Hopeful

There have been some experimental treatments in China and the USA with some patients hospitalised with Covid-19 where the patient has been given high doses of Vitamin C intravenously. These patients have faired better than those not on the Vit C!

Previously I shared some information with you via a link where a Doctor recommended hourly Vitamin C until your reach Bowel tolerance plus inhalation of Iodine via a Salt Pipe

Here is is again

I also recommend Zinc and Selenium foods and supplements. There is another study regarding Nitric Oxide and Corona virus (predating this CV19 virus) where the Nitric Oxide disrupts the replication cycle of the virus. The Supplement I take and recommend, Pro-Argi 9 has L-Arginine and L-Citrulin in it which assists the production/control of Nitric Oxide (plus high levels of Vit C, D, B12, B6, Vit K).

I’m happy to share these studies with you.

Darlings, keep safe, stay in and keep healthy and happy with me.

Love you always,

Helen  xx
