It seems that Christmas is a time of stress, worry and exhaustion rather than goodwill to all men? Black Friday appears to have started a panic in people to find the biggest bargain/spend shed loads of money! Seemingly, folks MUST have that huge TV, games console, and so on before Christmas and it’s worth losing self-respect and good manners for the fractional savings (which undoubtedly will be greater on Boxing Day anyway?). I’m not buying into it, thank you! I’m looking forward to some socialising, small gift sharing with loved ones and a bloody good dinner!! The panic and extreme expense I shall leave for others to enjoy?! A little time off work, parlour games, too much Christmas TV counterbalanced with daily exercise and quiet “head space” time is a good Christmas for me. I don’t see the need to panic – each one to their own.
The Smell Of…..
Yesterday I took a trip up to Pineapple, my old stomping ground for many of my years as a professional dancer. It’s hardly changed, and it felt like going home – the same smell, same studios, lighting and laughter as dancers get to hone their skills and work for their dreams.
Keeping Youthful, One High Kick At A Time!
I love all that I do (that’s why I do it) and I believe and understand in the huge value of all the services that I/we offer, I also know that dance is my first love and it keeps me mobile, fit, balanced, co ordinated and extremely happy. It’s my emotional and physical therapy (yes, I could be even more bonkers without it!) Research supports what I instinctively know. Those who take their exercise with a dance flavour have improved balance, co-ordination, memory, mood and so much more – all of which will keep us healthier than our non-dance counterparts as we grow older. This is why I have set up the Academy (with the support and expertise of Karen Smith) to help other teachers offer effective fun and fabulous dance fitness classes. I’m ‘passing on the baton’ to keep independent dance fitness alive and high kicking. Next year we launch the Academy membership and more training days across the UK (further if people want us!). Spread the word please, about our DYBO health and fitness classes and the DYBO Academy.
We want to ‘be the difference that makes the difference’ to many, many people.
Christmas Boogie Wonderland, (16th December, 7.30pm)
Only one more week until our fabulous Christmas party. The music and choreography is sorted and I’m planning the after class snacks and drinks – keeping to the 70’s disco theme! If you haven’t booked yet, do it now!!
Ski Fit
We have a few places available for our Friday Fitness class of the season; it’s fun, fab and effective for fitness and figure (even if you’re not skiing this year).
The Week Before Christmas
Based on requests, we will be running classes on the Monday and Tuesday before Christmas as follows…
Monday: 6.30pm Freestyle Fitness Yoga, 7.30pm Cardio Dance.
Tuesday: 7-8pm ‘Christmas Cracker Workout’. Our annual pre-Christmas workout; a happy and effective mix of fab exercise, great music and friends. Maybe you’ll have time for a little ‘drinkie poo’ at the Running Stream pub next door!
Please honour your booking!
The Turkey Trotters
Some of us are meeting up at the Foresters Pub to have a social walk on Boxing Day. Let me know if you are coming so we don’t set off without you!
10am at The Foresters, Church Crookham
Leaflets
Are you willing to help promote our classes for 2015? If you are happy to help spread the word I can either give you some flyers/posters or email them over to you. We have two new classes that would really benefit from your promotion. ‘Boogie Fit’ and ‘The Middle Bit ‘ in particular, thanks!
I could go on, but I know you are busy…
So my final point is that classes will take a break after the 23rd December and resume on Monday the 6th January 2015 (with the new classes!)
Have a calm and healthy week,
See you at class.
Love ya,
Helen
