I hope I find you well on this crisp late summer/autumn morning! As far as I’m concerned, and I know the weather man disagrees, summer continues into September – the winter is shorter that way! I’m still wearing flip flops but the shops are starting to stock Christmas things, which can ignite a spark of panic in some, but get the sprinklers out ‘cos you still have 3 months to go! That said, if you have fallen off your healthy diet and exercise regime and are a person who wants to look their best at the Christmas and New Year parties, you only have 3 months to get in shape!! Ha Ha.
You know I believe in being healthy all year round and am not a fan of event dieting, I think it sets up an all or nothing, denial then binge weight loss and gain spiral which isn’t good for your health, heart or mind. Get Fit, lean and stay that way !
Back On It!!!
Now the kids are back and most of you have finished your holidays and are returning to your routines, it’s time to get back to classes – yes I know who you skivers are!!! (he he) Classes have been rather quiet these past two weeks, so come on, get organised and get your arse to class!!!
Get Organised
All the classes are up and running, including our Friday Night Freestyle Fitness Yoga class. Research, and my own experience shows, that people are far more likely to make it to their fitness classes if they book in advance – tell people that they are going and arrange to meet people there. So if adherence to your fitness regime is difficult, then book/pay in advance, tell everyone of your plans and put it in your diary. Make it a non moveable ‘time out’ for you and your health!
Mini and I
Mini and I are fundraising for Guide Dogs for the Blind. I love that my little dog and I can help another owner and their dog make life a little/lot easier. I’m running with Mini every day but would like to organise a dog walking event, including dog free walkers! So are you up for it? I’m thinking the last Sunday in September, somewhere local, maybe the Caesars Camp area (but am open to suggestions) let me know, so I can get the ball rolling. You can sponsor us by texting Cape 50 to 70070. Here’s Mini with her official cape!
The Big One South
I’m presenting at The Big One South one day fitness event on the 20th September. It’s not often we have these events locally so if you want to come and play with me and other Presenters, here is the website – www.chrysalispromotions.com
Benton’s Boys
Steve’s pro cyclists are riding alongside the world’s best in the Tour of Britain which started yesterday in Liverpool. We are lucky to have a Stage Start in Camberley next Saturday morning where the race then goes via Deepcut, Mytchett, Ash Vale, Ash and out to finish in Brighton (after 140 miles!)
It’s a great spectacle and if you are going along to watch, cheer on Steve’s boys, Yanto Barker & Ian Wilkinson of Team Raleigh, Chris Opie & Kristian House of Rapha Condor JLT and Jon Mould of NFTO. It’s also live on ITV and Eurosport every afternoon this week!
Free Food!
Whilst on my runs I have noticed how many blackberries are ripening in the hedgerows. I have gathered a bowlful and am putting them on my banana pancakes and making smoothies with them. It’s not often you get free food, is it!
You could make a quick blackberry milk shake with almond milk and blackberries whizzed in a blender – it’s packed with vitamin C and the almond milk gives you protein to keep you fuller for longer.
The sun is out so I’m taking my work out in to the garden to boost my Vitamin D levels before the weather changes. Have a fabulous day and I’ll see you at class/training!
Love,
Helen
