I hope you are feeling restored after a long Bank Holiday weekend? Or maybe you are suffering the post over-indulgence lag often experienced following the ‘eggscesses’ of Easter? Simnel cake, chocolate, hot cross buns, more chocolate, roast dinner, chocolate etc. etc. etc.! Well that’s done – you’ve got it out of your system right? Ok, full steam ahead then. The sun is out, so go for a walk or bike ride and we have classes and one to one all week with new choreography for tonight’s Dance Fit class and a simple but effective circuit for Bodyblitz. There’s Contemporary Stretch and DYBO ‘Dancespiration’ on Thursday and our new (and for two weeks only), ‘Burlesque Fitness Fusion’ class – a Fun, Flirty and Fabulous class suitable for everyone (including newbies and beginners).
So what about all those left-overs then?
It depends upon your own self-control and resolve. The truth is, chocolate isn’t good for us, it has minimal nutritional value (aka empty calories). Small amounts we can deal with occasionally but in vast amounts such as a whole Easter egg or box of chocs, it is really an abuse of our insulin control system and the excess stored as abdominal fat. Some folks put it in the freezer and use it for baking later; others hide it, (out of sight out of mind but when you are trying to clean up your act in terms of food and lifestyle, believe me you’ll remember where it is and hunt it out!). Others eat it all up thinking “that’s it, all gone – I will start back on the plan tomorrow” as if all that extra sugar and calories won’t count if you eat it in one go! Well this might seem harsh but if it’s still hanging around after Easter I think you should bin it! Some people give it away to hospitals or play groups but is a gift of too much sugar, fat and caffeine really a gift especially to sick or young people who need great nutrition to be well? I’m sure you have had enough, so step away from the Chocolate!
Whatever you choose to do, get moving to stimulate your metabolism and be healthy! The best form of exercise is the one that you do regularly, so it’s the one you like and enjoy – see you at class.
Have a fab week.
Love ya,
Helen x
