Did you, like me, have lots of great plans for 2024? I hope that you managed to enjoy some, if not all of them.
A famous expression that says…
…is very true of my 2024 and I know that I’m not alone in that.
Rather than focusing on the very real challenges that we have faced this year, I want to count my blessings.
Coach Mini our much-loved senior canine mascot, faced very poor health Easter time and the Vets didn’t hold much hope but the brave little warrior battled on and recovered.
Declan became seriously ill in May (although there were signs that something was amiss before that) and was treated in Frimley Parks high dependency unit twice in the same week – I nearly lost him which scared the hell out of us all. He spent the Summer recovering slowly at home, returning to work late September.
Recently he has been given a clean bill of health and I’m hoping that he will follow the advice and guidance of an award winning multi discipline Fitness professional, do you know one ??!!!
Mini is once again seriously ill and almost went over the rainbow bridge on Thursday but rallied in the nick of time and with the Vet’s blessing, a different treatment approach and some intensive nursing she has picked up for now. Please keep her in your prayers. She is sleeping in my arms as I type this to you one handed.
As I write to you now I’m blessed that I still have the same number of friends and family (2 and 4 legged) that I started the year with, as it was so very nearly not the case.
I had all sorts of personal plans for the year but they can wait till next year, life took me on another path for a while.
I’m also blessed that for another year I have shared our classes/training sessions with you darling long standing DYBO family and that together we’ve welcomed new family members and welcomed back lapsed ones.
All of your support, love and kindness, even when you didn’t know what I was dealing with behind the scenes certainly helped keep me going. Our classes and training sessions give me focus, purpose and a distraction from ‘life stuff’ and I love creating, leading and sharing them with you.
I’ve always known that the DYBO family is a unique and special group of people – I’ve seen how you have welcomed and supported each other over the years and this year you proved it again by supporting me too!
I ask for just three things from you this Christmas
- You have a peaceful and wonderful Christmas, free from drama and in good health
- You get back to your healthy eating and exercise regime as soon as Christmas is over and that I see you at classes/training from the 6th January.
- You take a minute to leave a Google review as soon as you have read this message.
The Google review costs you nothing, only takes a minute to dovand helps me to get DYBO on the front page of Google. Twixtmas is when folks starting looking for inspiring fitness and dance classes – your review can help them find us. We know that the big clubs have huge marketing budgets, but I have you as my advocates – word of mouth and 5 star reviews can really help raise awareness of what we do and fill our classes.
