Hip, Hip, Hip, Hooray! The sun has got his hat on, did you all go out to play?
Oh my goodness isn’t the world a happier place when we have a bit of sunshine!
Well apart from the folks who get headaches and cramps, possibly caused by dehydration, mineral imbalances and maybe too much sun on the head! Sorry have I ruined the mood? Well not as much as sunstroke and sunburn believe me! I have my Auntie Helen (sun) hat on my darlings, reminding you to slip slap slop, drink more water and go easy on the sugary drinks and ice cream snacks!
Did you know that some frappucino’s from well-known coffee emporiums have up to 25 spoons of sugar in them!! The way to avoid going over the sugar limit is to drink iced coffee without any of those added syrups; if you are determined to add sweetness, try a little maple syrup, coconut sugar or honey – at least these sugars have some nutritional benefit. But remember, if you are trying to balance your blood sugars and lose some body fat, it’s still sugar! Definitely stay clear of sugar substitutes and sweeteners – even fructose, agave syrup and the like because in this isolated form they can only be processed in the liver. I have some lovely healthy cold drink recipes for you at the end of this blog.
I’m happy to report that we have a full week of classes with lots of new music and class content. Our Power Step Combo last Friday was a blast; we all got pink and sweaty and had a massive laugh a perfect way to start the weekend! If you’re planning to come to our beginners ‘Boogie Fit’ class then join us tonight as we start a new routine. It’s often easier to start on the first rung of the ladder although not essential!
We are moving into Holiday Season, which means a few gaps are appearing in my diary. If you would like to grab the opportunity to come and have a health and fitness consultation, Personal training, weight management, injury prevention and rehabilitation advice and massage then message me on Helen@dybo.co.uk. Remember that I will also do small group sessions ( up to 3 people) and both Karen and Sarah are also available to assist you. Read on for news and recipes
