Good morning, I’m writing this in Sunny Jersey on a Sunday afternoon, following an exhilarating coastal walk. Life feels good. I’m surrounded by healthy island people who, in the main, have an inspiring and wonderfully balanced lifestyle with plenty of dog walking, swimming in the sea, fresh air and sunshine. If I could add dancing with my ‘fitness family’ to the mix I think I would want to stay here forever! Whilst out exploring we came across an old church and graveyard and noted how ‘long lived’ the island folk are and I’m not surprised; life is at a slower pace with leisurely meal times, activity and fresh air a plenty. I want to keep reminding myself, and you, of the importance of balance! Remembering to make time to stop and smell the flowers, to prepare and eat a good meal, laugh with friends and loved ones, to dance, sing and do what makes us happy more of the time and worry, stress and work less of the time. That sounds like a good plan!

To help you with your work, life, dietary balance I have lots of fabulous classes and one to one session ideas to share with you plus news, and a recipe.

Freestyle fitness yoga

We have 5 Fridays in May, which I think is lucky, and each Friday night is dedicated to feeling Fabulous during and due to our Freestyle Fitness Yoga classes. Classes are 6.30-7.15 pm

Happy ‘Big’ Birthday Mum

The reason we (Melanie and I) were in Jersey was to celebrate Mums 70th birthday (she will be furious I told you the number).

Well done and ‘Good Luck One Pro Cycling ‘

Steve’s boys were racing in the Rutland International Classic this weekend scoring a solid 2nd place – they will now head off to race in the prestigious Tour de Yorkshire this week. Watch out for them on telly!

DYBO Academy

Karen and I head off to Bath on May 10th to share our Training Day “The Choreography Equation” with the wonderful teachers of the South West. We are really looking forward to it! Spread the word and help me keep independent and creative fitness and dance alive and taught excellently.

Food Find

I have discovered coconut yogurt; it’s a great low carb, high protein breakfast, snack or dessert item. You can eat it as it is or use it as an ingredient/accompaniment instead of cream. For example I have added a spoonful with my banana pancakes with chopped nuts and banana or just a breakfast on the run. You could add it to smoothies or cheesecake like recipes. I get mine from Waitrose in the chilled desserts section.

Did you try the cauliflower pizza base? I wanna see pictures. If you have any healthy recipes you think that our Fitness family will enjoy send ‘em over!

Have a fab week

Love ya, Helen x
