Step away from the chocolate, you’ve had enough! Ha Ha – mad isn’t it? We tell children that sweets and chocolate are bad for them, and we know that it will make us fat and rot our teeth too but yet at Easter we give children and our loved ones enough chocolate to give, even the Easter bunny diabetes- talk about mixed messages! Dec and I shared the smallest and thinnest Easter egg and ate it as if we had just come out of the celebrity jungle (imagine greedy chomping and snorting noises! ). Yes that was us and it wasn’t pretty!
I know that if sweets, biscuits cakes and chocolate are in the house we will just keeping eating until it’s gone so that’s why I don’t have it around!
What are you going to do with all that excess chocolate? Try putting it in the freezer and use it in cooking eg, melt some chocolate and make a sociable fondue – dipping fruit and nuts in it will ensure you get your 7 a day, some protein and are less likely to eat so much of it! Left over Hot Cross Buns? Make eggy bread or a bread and butter pudding with it and put it in the freezer. Don’t treat your body like a rubbish bin for too much sugar, fat and calories
Over the Easter weekend I have walked and walked, my little dogs legs are even shorter and whilst I love walking in the beautiful countryside I know that I would have to walk London to Brighton ( Good Luck to Claire Gillson who is doing just that for charity next month) to burn off the excess Easter calories! The average easter egg (they really do range in size and ingredients) has approximately 1060 calories in it and 123 grams sugar – eeeek! (it would take around 4 hours of walking to burn that off!). Unless you have 4 hours every day to walk – obviously more intensity is required to speed up the metabolic process!
All classes are running this week, don’t put it off, get to class and burn it off!
If you are usually a Monday member then remember we have classes running on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (commencing this Friday, we offer you Freestyle Fitness Yoga, a little faster than regular yoga, no sanskrit terms or dogma, a fab stretch and strength class) and you are welcome to all and any of them!
Another class reminder is that we start our brand new Barrre Fitness class on the 26th April, book now to guarantee you get a place!
Keeping it short and sweet (get it?, ha ha ) this week, darlings.
Enjoy the sunshine and see you at class
Love ya
Helen xx
PS My grandad had a motto, “All good things in moderation – including moderation” (except when it comes to cups of tea!!)
