Every year I mourn the ending of Summer, having worked all the way through it and missing out on the Summer vibes, fetes, festivals, picnics and beach visits ….. well not this year, my friend. This year I want to play more at the weekends, saying YES to those invites, opportunities and living in the moment. Do you have any suggestions for places to visit, concerts, festivals etc?
Big up Rachel Davies who completed the Prudential Ride 100, the full distance and the hills, Rachel is amazing – she manages to fit in bike, run and swim training (plus team synchro) running a business and being Mum to two active boys.
Our, now retired, ‘Synchro belle’ Lauren Smith also rode and completed the distance as did ‘Independance’ Presenter, Dan Little – big round of applause to everyone.

Jane Bass news
Following being hit by a van, breaking her leg and elbow, then having surgery on both, DYBO family member Jane is doing incredibly well.
I bumped into her in Farnham and her nurse/husband Nigel. Jane is doing amazingly well despite not being able to wheel herself around in the wheelchair. She is doing lots of home physio, performing exercises she has learned over the years as a DYBO member. This has promoted a surprisingly rapid (well surprising to her surgeon, any way) recovery and positive mental state. Her surgeon has commented upon her excellent fitness and healing powers.
During last Thursday’s Stretch we were talking about fitness being great for long term health, making everyday life easier and more comfortable and of of course for our aesthetics, but we also commented on how important it is for us when things go wrong, by helping us recover more quickly and more fully. This is true even in the case of major diseases and illness or injury – even in terminal cases where research has shown greater fitness before and maintaining it during provides improved wellness, positive mental state and even life extending benefits.
IndepenDANCE!

I’m thrilled that Nikki is back again to deliver her ever so popular sessions for us – she was a massive hit on her last visit three years ago. I’m so excited and have already chosen my music and started the choreography for my ‘ConfiDance’ class.
Banana Flax Turmeric Overnight Oats

Adapted recipe from nourish.com
An easy, healthy breakfast recipe for overnight oats to get you going in the morning! Gluten free, refined sugar free, great for your gut health and vegan friendly. Creamy, filling keeps you full for longer and so simple!
Ingredients
- 1small, overripe banana
- 45-50grams rolled oats (1/2 cup)
- 2tbsp ground flaxseed
- 1/2 – 1tsp ground turmeric – adjust depending on taste preference
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1-2 tbsp yoghurt of choice (I use coconut)
Instructions
- Place oats, flaxseed, turmeric and cinnamon in a bowl, container or jar.
- Mash the banana thoroughly and add to the oat mixture.
- Pour in the milk, water and yoghurt. Stir everything until it’s all evenly combined.
- Refrigerate for a 3-4 hours at least, or preferably overnight. The flaxseed will soak up lots of the liquid.
- Serve the overnight oats as is, or add your favourite toppings. e.g., berries, mango, passion fruit, chopped nuts, and seeds.
Enjoy!
I’m looking forward to hearing about your staycation suggestions and seeing you at classes and one to one sessions
Love ya
