When I was a kid, not long after moving to Surrey from London, I was introduced to the traditions of May – Maypole Dancing with Ms Martin (boys strangling the girls with the ribbons and swinging us off our feet) and Fetes and May Queens (believe it or not I was crowned Queen of the May (as my Grandad proudly announced), despite me being the scruffiest looking May Queen ever seen I’m sure!

I still love these English traditions even if the two Bank Holidays in May disrupt our classes (class attendance often dips after the Bank Holidays as our Monday members seem to get out of the habit and take a while to return to their routine – sometimes for a very long while).

I’ve had a wonderful weekend…commencing with Fridays Freestyle Fitnes Yoga which really does set me up (loosening joints and firming muscles) for the weekend – it’s a much loved class by attendees – friendly and easy going but still effective. Then Saturday afternoon was spent celebrating my Mum’s 55th (+VAT and P&P!!) birthday with Afternoon Tea and a show in the West End.

‘An American in Paris’ is simply brilliant. I highly recommend it.

Sunday was spent choreographing for most of the day and then joining a charity Dog Walk, raising funds and awareness for ‘Dogs Walk This Way’ Rescue.

My extra day off was spent doing more choreography and dog walking to the pub where I saw DYBO member Claire Gillson striding past the pub in training for her London to Brighton Charity Walk. She looked very impressive, big respect to Claire and her walking pal.

So this week coming we have brand new routines and content for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday classes. Plus our brand new class ‘Barre Fit’ which was a big hit last Wednesday (Daisy and I are thrilled) – we’ve had lovely feedback thank you. If you want to join us, please let me know asap.

If you missed your regular Monday class, why not come along to one of our other classes to keep up the momentum and training.

Memorial

I have been asked to deliver a memorial class for my fitness friend Jan Mazan who recently passed away, on Saturday 27th May 12-1 (another class follows) at Frogmore Campus Yately. It would be wonderful to have your support on the day (even if you didn’t know Jan yourself). I know I will value your smiling faces as I don’t know the Frogmore crowd and it will be an emotional event for me.

Money raised will go to Cancer Research.

Staying Off The Booze

A comment I often hear from my clients who are trying to stay away from the sugar is that they don’t know what to drink when they go out socially or they dislike plain water!

Well try this as a tasty, refreshing and hydrating cocktail
