I’m singing sunshine songs this morning – isn’t it wonderful to have such a sunny warm Autumn day? Get outside and get some Vit D and fresh air whilst it lasts (the sun, that is!!).
Boy did I need that extra hour this morning after my weekend. Nope, I wasn’t partying (although I was having a fab time), I had the pleasure of delivering a lecture on a Wellness qualification training day. I sat in on my fellow presenters lectures (which I loved) and had the pleasure of chatting, mixing and mingling with folks (not all Fit Pro’s) who are interested in delivering Wellness to their clients and of course for themselves. The feedback I received for my presentation was overwhelming and comments for the entire day were equally as good so I’m looking forward to the next one and maybe organising one for you guys too – what do you think?
I have lots of news re classes, services, courses, changes, and weight/health management over the winter months. Remember a ‘beach ready’ body is created in the winter months!
Bravo Sarah!
So the first bit of fab news is that Sarah gained her Sports Massage qualification with a Distinction pass – what a star! She will be spending the next two months practicing and strengthening her ‘Massage Muscles’ and will be ready to see clients as from January, here at HQ, joining Karen and myself providing Sports Massage Therapy treatments.
Half Term
All Monday to Thursday classes are running this week. No Class on Friday 31st as we are throwing a Halloween Party here at HQ in Church Crookham, and you are invited to join us for a spooktacular evening. Please RSVP by Wednesday. Arrival by broomstick 7.30pm!
FFY
From Monday the 3rd November on Monday nights, the 6.30pm Class will be Freestyle Fitness Yoga. No yoga experience necessary; I have some sticky yoga mats but for hygiene reasons you are best having your own (you can then of course practice at home!) Contact us if you would like to buy one.
Power Step
Our new Friday Fitness course is Power Step, a workout that focuses on fitness and fun rather than difficult choreography. Various interval training methods and muscle toning exercises are employed to provide a really effective, full body workout. With fab music and great company it’s also early enough to do before your evening out (or on the sofa, feeling righteous!). Fridays 6.30-7.15pm on the 7, 14, 21, 28 November. December and January’s course will be Ski Fit.
Christmas Party Workout
Its 2 months to Christmas so I’m ready to talk about it (although not ready to go shopping!), put this date in your diary.
16th December at 7.30pm, will be our Christmas Party Workout and this year I’m taking you to “Boogie Christmas Wonderland!”, so dig out your flares and best Disco moves for another one of our fabulous and fun party classes.
Keeping a check on your Christmas pudding!
As the nights seem longer, it’s easy to stay in and “carb up” in front of the telly only to feel rubbish, sluggish, and irritable. Now it’s not a good time of year to diet (in fact once you have found a healthy weight and life style the phrase weight loss diet can be removed from your vocabulary all together) BUT every year many of us put the fat back on that we have diligently lost over the summer months, plus a little more. Back in history, when humans didn’t have central heating and sugar laded snacks so readily available, it was necessary to put a little extra fat insulation on – today we have no need, in fact it causes us real health problems as each year we get a little bigger than the last. Try to maintain your weight this year. Switch your salads for stews, soups and hot dinners made from good quality protein and vegetables. Avoid the sugary hot drinks, sodas, alcohol, and desserts; fill up on in-season veggie, make up plenty and freeze, so that you have your own ready meals rather than grabbing snacks.
