November often brings us the things that we Brits moan about, usually weather related i.e. fog, damp, leaves on the track (!) and, if you are like me, fireworks and premature Christmas music in shops! Yet on the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month we are reminded to say thank you for our freedom (including to ‘winge’) due to the sacrifices of our grandparents generation. Very quickly I see my world from a different perspective, the colours of autumn, the magical ethereal quality of mist over the lakes, snuggly coats, scarves and ‘welly boots’.

There is always much to be thankful for when we choose to look for it.

I’m not suggesting that we should ignore things that need addressing but rather remind us not to give them more weight than they deserve, or indeed so much focus that we become too immobilised to deal with them- doing so makes these things so big that it blocks our view of all that is wonderful, hopeful and joyous. Set yourself a task to comment (out loud) on at least three lovely things every hour (definitely start your day this way). Even if you repeat the same things this practice will help shift you in to a more positive state helping you to move forward and feel great and get more of those ‘less than fun’ things done (works for me!)

So let me get you started, thank you for being in my DYBO family, for choosing to use my health, fitness, wellness and dance services. I know that there are lots of options for you out there, some with very glossy marketing, facilities and big labels so thank you for choosing the ‘little guy’ and investing in and with me and my team, our values, methods and skills.

I’m thankful for your friendship, custom and loyalty and hope that we will continue together throughout the many trials and tribulations of life supporting each other for many years to come.
