…comes the Sun!
What did you think I was going to say? Ha ha… I know I talk about gut health a lot so it’s understandable!
After being blown around the fields on my walk yesterday, suddenly the wind dropped and we were treated to sunshine and warmth, wonderful! A metaphor for my life! (oh and my digestive system after I have had some sugar and paid the price! )

And breathe…!
It’s officially Spring… yayyyy, and I can feel the weight of Winter lifting from my mind and soul. For many, they feel more inclined to take better care of their fitness, figure and might be thinking about sunny holidays and flashing the flesh.
You know that I believe in optimum health, fitness and nutrition all year round but if you have let things slip for whatever reason then now is the time to get back to self care – I’m here to help.
Recruiting
We are recruiting new DYBO participants so please spread the word about all of our classes.
We offer great value for money – especially if you join us more than once a week -with our membership. When you attend twice a week then a membership is certainly great value and if you attend more classes then it’s brilliant value. Your membership covers all classes and discounts on masterclasses and events. You can set up a monthly direct debit and it’s all sorted.
Another option is the voucher, which offers 10 classes for £55 that can be used on the door for all classes (except the courses, when we ask that you book ahead using a credit from your voucher). The voucher must be used within 12 weeks of purchase.
REQUEST – To speed up class registration please retrieve your voucher from the box ,check it’s got credits left on it and hand over to receptionist (usually me, ha ha). For cash flow please ensure vouchers are up to date and that memberships are paid on the first day of the month, many thanks.
Gut Health Talk
Sweaty Betty Farnham have invited me to give a Gut Health talk at their store, as my extension is yet to be finished, my sitting room is currently a gym – this is a great opportunity to spread my message about gut health, why it’s essential for health, wellness and figure, what are the symptoms of poor gut health/imbalance, what causes it and how to correct it. So put the 10thApril in your diary, 6-7pm. First come, first served.
‘Independance Day’

Folks travel from far and wide for these wonderful days, they really are exceptional and always unique – there is nothing like it and it’s on your doorstep.
4 hours of fabulous teaching, choreography fun and laughter!
Old ‘Skool’ Step, 90’s Style
We would love to bring back Step classes, created and delivered as they were in the 90’s i.e. great music, simple, effective and based upon the findings of research specific to step training. Simple means you can work harder and safer keeping it results focused. We are proposing Wednesday nights 6.30-7.15pm. Commencing after the Easter break.
We are currently combining Step, Slide and Core work in our Wednesday classes – the results are fantastic and we are having a blast.
Come and join the fun, Wednesdays 6.30pm before Barre Fit.

Sweet Potato Anti-Inflammatory Muffins

Sweet potatoes are high in vitamin A, vitamin B5, B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, and, due to their orange colour, are high in carotenoids.
Plus, they’re fat-free, high in fibre relatively low in sodium and have fewer calories than white potatoes — although they do have more total sugar, the fibre assists them release sugar slowly so regarded as having higher glycemic index.
Also, “due to the colour-pigmented vitamins, sweet potatoes are high in anti-inflammatory benefits.”
Coconut flour is a healthy substitute for regular flour that regulates cholesterol. Turmeric and ginger fight inflammation, lower cancer risk, fight bacteria, and prevent viruses. Coconut milk contains healthy medium-chain fatty acids that can increase metabolism and support weight loss. It is also abundant in vitamins and minerals, like vitamins C, E, and B-complex, iron, selenium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus.
Ingredients:
- 1 small organic sweet potato, roasted
- ¾ cup organic coconut milk
- 2 tbsp. organic olive oil
- 3 tbsp. ground flaxseed in ½ cup of water
- 1 cup organic brown rice flour
- ¼ cup organic coconut flour (might try my protein shake powder or almond flour)
- ½ cup pure maple syrup or unpasteurised honey
- 1 tbsp. aluminum-free baking powder
- ½ tsp. himalayan salt
- ⅛ tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- ⅛ tsp ground cloves
- 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400F. Make several holes in the skin of the sweet potato using a skewer, and place it on a baking tray.
Cook for an hour. When cool, cut the sweet potato in half, scoop out the insides, and put them in a large bowl.
Add flaxseed, coconut milk, olive oil, and maple syrup. Mix the dry ingredients in another bowl, and add them to the previous mixture.
Grease a muffin tray with coconut oil, pour the batter evenly, and cook for about half an hour.
Enjoy!
