Well it seems that the heatwave is delayed for another week (have you seen the Facebook statuses doing the rounds suggesting that Spain is sending us its current heat wave?). Does the rain staying around mean that we delay cracking on with the things that we promise ourselves (and others) that we will do… well for some, it does.
If this blog pushes a few buttons for some today, so be it. Bringing awareness of how we can move forward can be an uncomfortable feeling, yet when we pay attention and take action it’s a wonderful (even a relieving) experience. I’ve already told you about the many excuses I hear as to why folks aren’t taking consistent action towards achieving their goals and because I work with people’s health and fitness many of those goals are related to figure, appearance and physical performance (although not exclusively).
Ultimately an excuse is a reason for failure, the excuse is irrelevant and it doesn’t take the problem away, it’s still there leaving us feeling a bit rubbish. Sometimes those reasons are placed there (or given greater focus than is truly necessary) because we are not fully committed to achieving the goal, we can’t be bothered to take the necessary actions (or don’t know how or what to do).
Maybe we are concerned that we will not be happy whilst taking the actions necessary to get there or even we might not get what we truly want when we take those actions and do get there. Be honest with yourself though, face your ‘excuses’ and either get on with it or face the reality of your actions/lack of and live with the consequences. I’m here to help if you do want to crack on with it with the practical side, including effective goal setting, action planning and actually getting on with it.

A great day for me…
This weekend I delivered my ante post natal teacher training course to a lovely group of Pilates teachers who traveled from near and far to learn about how to care for ladies during that precious time in life. As usual these ladies were wonderful and I have already enjoyed some wonderful feedback this morning, I love what I do and lovely, kind and appreciative feedback is a bonus.
…and for Sarah too
Sarah’s Liberty Gymnasts put on a fantastic display at the Frimley Green Carnival and also won the Best Club Float (again!!). Truly deserved too by everyone who created papier mâchéparrots, pineapples, palm trees and painted loo roll chains (thanks for your loo roll donations!).
