I love how that reads 17/7/17… I wonder what the day will bring?
I know that as a coach we often say “create the day that you want, wake up with purpose and crack on with your day!” It is satisfying to direct your efforts with intention, knowing that you are moving towards that which you want as oppossed to spending the day dealing with or running away from that which you don’t!

How did you wake up today?

I also believe that you can rest and restore purposefully too and ‘lazy days’ should be called recovery days, going with the flow, taking naps, sitting and chilling alone or with friends and family.
There has to be a balance for happiness and wellness and if we work too hard or chill/drift too much (the amount necessary is different for everyone) then we become dissatisfied or even unwell – symptoms of which are often irritability, frustration, lethargy, depression, weight gain, bloating, poor quality sleep, sallow/blemished skin overwhelm and so on.

The sun is out again. Even if you don’t like sitting directly in the sun, take time out to sit in the shade looking at the sun or go for a shady walk. I adore taking walks on sunny days through the woods and love the effect that the sun creates as it squeezes through the leaves on the trees.

So to our week ahead…

It’s all systems go with all of our classes: fab music, fab movement and fantastic class members…perfect. We have classes 5 nights a week, so no excuses even if you do miss your regular class!
Our new Wednesday night Barre Fit classes and Friday night Perfect Summer Solution classes are a big hit – variety is the spice of life so mix it up for mind and body!

Current Friday Fitness Class…

Dairy-free flourless low low carb chocolate pud in a mug!
• 1 medium overripe banana
• 2 tbsp smooth almond butter (can sub for any nut or seed butter of choice)
• 2 tbsp cocoa powder
• 2-3 tbsp chocolate chips dairy free or sugar free (I found some from www.plamifoods.co.uk)

Grease a microwave or oven safe ramekin/mug and set aside.
In a blender/nutribullet or large mixing bowl, add all ingredients, except for chocolate chips, and blend/mix until a smooth batter remains.
Stir through chocolate chips, reserving a few for decorating the top.
Cook in the microwave for around one minute.
If you use the oven, bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 Fahrenheit, or until a toothpick comes out ‘just’ clean.

As a keen club runner I had become frustrated at a number of recurring running injuries. After seeing a variety of different physios and chiropractors, with varying degrees of success but no complete solution, I was recommended to Helen. Helen took a different approach to other practitioners, looking at the whole body structure, core strength and flexibility and initially recommending a programme based around my basic posture, rather than the actual location of the pain. Following the exercises and programmes recommended by Helen I have managed to stay injury free for over 18 months, and am able to train at increasing levels of intensity. Thank you!
