Love is all around?

If you want to keep that loving mood turn off the news, stay away from social media and hang out with lovely up beat and loving people.

We all have our own idea of what constitutes a demonstration of love, I don’t need (or want) to be told that if she/he/they love me or I love them we will give or be given merchandise that is deemed appropriate. I want time and connection, not stuff. Keep your money in your wallet and be fully present with your loved ones, turn off your phones, stop texting, face booking, twittering etc. and be in body and mind with the ones you love! A bunch of roses, jewellery, posh undies, slap up dinner etc. does not (for me) make up for being ignored or taken for granted all year.

Spend time with yourself, invest in your physical and mental wellbeing i.e. love yourself (want the best for your health and happiness) and encourage your loved ones to love themselves too. Self love is about ‘being’ all you can ‘be’ rather than thinking of yourself or acting as if you are superior or more important than any one else. Care for your physical, emotional and mental health via healthy thoughts, good quality nutrition, and well designed and executed exercise, laughter, sleep and drink plenty of water.

Fix Your Gut, Fix The Problem

The media is full of reports on Gut health and it’s impact on over all health. As you know I have been working with clients and their gut and skin biome for a while and I recently had more fantastic testimonials from very happy clients both from the data I have gathered (Bodystat measures, body fat, lean tissue, and hydration plus heart rate and blood pressure measurements) and their own personal statements and measurements. Results in brief include lowered blood pressure resulting in no need for medication, increased mood, decreased body fat, mental clarity, increased energy, fewer aches pains (including those connected with medical conditions) elimination of gastric distress and IBS symptoms, improved sleep, reduced PMS and premenopausal symptoms, smooth and clear skin and fat loss plus more benefits!!

I’m happy to do another Gut Health talk if you are interested – I usually host it in small private groups for up to 10 people.

Nothing says I love you more than making lovely, tasty, but healthy, food for your

valentine and this fab recipe fits the bill perfectly!

Paleo Chocolate Mousse

For the vanilla layer…

  1. 1 cup cashews (soaked for at least 10 min)
  2. ¾ cup coconut milk
  3. ¼ cup coconut oil
  4. 1 tbs. coconut sugar
  5. 1 tsp. vanilla powder or extract
  6. pinch of salt

For the chocolate layer…

  1. ½ cup coconut oil
  2. 1 tbs. raw cacao powder
  3. 1 tbs. coconut sugar
  4. ½ tsp. vanilla powder or extract
  5. pinch of salt

Extra toppings…

  1. Punnet of strawberries or your favorite berries

Instructions for the vanilla layer:

  1. In a food processor or high power blender whiz the cashew, coconut milk and coconut oil until smooth.
  2. Add the vanilla and coconut sugar and whiz untill well combined.
  3. Get 4 cute jars/glasses or glass bowls and pour or spoon in the first layer of vanilla mousse.
  4. Place these jars into the fridge.
  5. Place the vanilla filling aside.

Now for the chocolate layer…

  1. Place all the ingredients in to the food processor
  2. Whiz until super smooth. The friction from the blending with allow the chocolate to melt and combine together.
  3. Get your jars out of the fridge and pour or spoon in the first chocolate layer.
  4. Place back in to the fridge for a couple minutes to allow the chocolate to firm up a little.
  5. Continue this method with alternating layers of choc and vanilla until you have used all the mixture.
  6. Top with chopped strawberries; if your jars are too small, serve the strawberries on the side.
  7. Place the jars in to the fridge for at least an hour or prepare the day before and leave overnight.
  8. Take out of the fridge at least 20 mins before serving as the choccy layer will be a little hard.

  1. If the whole layering thing seems a bit annoying just do 2 layers of vanilla and 1 of chocolate OR get a large glass bowl/dish and do one big Vanilla Choc Mousse cake and spoon it out like delicious ice cream.

Wishing you a lovely week and always remember

I love ya!

I must have been having a massage with Helen, on a monthly basis for over 10 years now.  I really value this time.  Helen will advise me if there is a small problem with my back or legs, and give me the right exercises to do , to correct the problem.  Helen has helped me before and after 2 uni-compartmental knee replacement operations.  I am 73 years old and thankfully feel fit.  I swim twice a week, enjoy pilates and a hydrofit class.  Helen  has been a major help in keeping me flexible, fit and healthy, and I recommend her most highly.
