Focus?!

A recent experience made me think about how I’m choosing to focus my thoughts and actions. I think it’s possible to ruin our own happiness, relationships, fitness, health etc. and fall out of love with job, home, family, friends and even ourselves simply by focusing more on what has gone wrong rather than all the wonderful things that are going right!

We often note and comment on failures/flaws and perceived misdemeanors within ourselves and others whilst ignoring, or not noticing, all the very many wonderful and excellent behaviours and qualities we and others demonstrate.

We often create an imbalanced viewpoint and filter out all the good, choosing to weigh the less good more heavily. This results in dissatisfaction and a breakdown in relationships with others and ourselves and most certainly demotivates us and others.

We can become stubborn and entrenched in our viewpoint, failing to truly see, hear and feel what is going on. Our ego encourages us to be right and if we do seek advice or counsel from others we will be irritated by those who try to suggest an alternative view point or opinion – often those which are the very ones we should consider!

Focusing on the negative is bad for our mental and physical health, it derails our progress and positive behaviours and can affect others negatively too. Equally our competitors can benefit from our self-sabotage. We can throw away great friends relationships, careers etc. when we don’t see and acknowledge what’s good.

I’m not suggesting that we ignore negative behaviours, simply consider the positives too.

 

I hope you are making the most of the Summer and are enjoying our special Summer classes. I’ve made an effort to make the classes extra special and varied over the Summer season to keep you inspired, engaged and fabulously fit.

I will be taking a vacation to recharge my batteries, recover and fire up my creativity. The teachers I’ve chosen to care for your fitness needs are excellent, and have been coached by me to ensure they fully understand your needs and likes.

I’ve encouraged them to bring something different too – a change is as good as a rest, so please do show them our famous DYBO support and friendship (it’s not an easy job to cover another teacher). Of course, do let them know what you would like them to include via your suggestions and help them out as much as you can please. Your attendance is important for you, me and them, I’ve paid them and the venue (remember I’m running the classes for you) and it really knocks a teacher’s confidence when there are ‘no shows’.

 

Can I remind you that the new Term is just around the corner with the return of Boogie Fit (6.30pm from 10th September) which is a fabulous introduction to Dance Fitness and created specifically for beginners and returners to our Dance Fitness program.

The Middle Bit returns to the schedule and whilst it is complimentary to attendees of Boogie Fit and Cardio Dance, you can attend just The Middle Bit for only £3.50!

 

Please do spread the word about our classes – word of mouth is the best form of promotion. Tell friends, family and colleagues and share on social media too!

 

New Barre Fit (Wednesdays 7.30-8.30pm, recommencing 12th September)

 

DYBO Barre Fit has been a big hit and based on requests and demand the class is now extended so we can fit in more fabulousness.

The class has evolved since its beginnings so come and give it a go if you haven’t tried it for a while – attendees have commented on improved muscle tone and strength of legs, butt and core plus improved flexibility, posture and balance. For many, it’s their favourite class of the week.

 

Fitness Yoga returns 14th September. As always we have responded to our DYBO family’s request and are running another course of Freestyle Fitness Yoga – book now!

 

Free Food!

I see that the Blackberries are out already. Yay, free food and we can feel like Bear Grylls when foraging for your dinner ha ha! Here is a fab Muffin recipe found on ‘Paleoaholic’ – low carb and healthy, whoop whoop!

 

Paleo Blackberry Muffins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 4 eggs organic
  • 2 tbsp organic and raw ideally
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups blackberries

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • In a medium bowl mix baking soda and almond flour
  • In a mixing bowl combine eggs, honey and vinegar
  • Combine both stirring until combined and add the berries
  • Using a ¼ cup scoop out batter into a paper lined muffin pan
  • Bake for 15min or until slightly browned

Cool for 30 min and Enjoy!

Helen was inspirational when I went to her for Life Coaching. I began to regard events and happenings that caused me pain in a totally different way and the comfort that gave me was intense during some really life changing personal circumstances.
