Wow it’s the morning after the night before – wasn’t the Commonwealth Games and final celebration brilliant?

One of our riders, Tobyn Horton had a tough day in the Road Race event. He rode in the front group right up to the final laps but then the lack of food and cold got to him (the neutral service cars weren’t really doing their job regarding getting food, drink and bike repairs done for the riders and some missed out all together!). He got to carry the flag for Guernsey at the Closing Ceremony so that was an honour. Our other Road man, Jon Mould had a mechanical problem in the first lap that wasn’t sorted so his race was over – it was a disappointing ‘commies’ for him, he has to dust himself down and learn the lessons that can be learned and get back on his bike (literally!)
For Steve it’s been tough to watch his boys from home as each country had their appointed team coaches for Cycling although Steve was in regular contact.

Lisa Coaley was a Commies volunteer, well done Lisa! Adele Carlsen sat in the audience at the closing ceremony – she enjoyed being a spectator for the first time (in 4 Games), rather than being part of the team.

Good Luck
To Ian Richards and Caroline Jones who are doing the RideLondon event (independently) this weekend. We will be at Abinger Hammer cheering you on (and giving you a push up that big hill if you need it!)
And to Steve’s riders who are riding in the Pro team event later in the day for various teams, as follows – Chris Opie & Kristian House (Rapha Condor JLT), Yanto Barker & Ian Wilkinson (Raleigh), Tobyn Horton (Madison Genesis) and Jon Mould (NFTO).

Changeover update
The new website is nearly ready and we are looking forward to the switch from things as they are now, to the new upgrade and step up in our business operations. You will be the first to witness the changeover as soon as it’s all ready. In the meantime, if you would like to share your testimonials with us, we are grateful to receive them but obviously asap, thanks.

This is the first week of August and our Summer Schedule. Some of you still have to collect and pay for your booked classes. You have a personal booking slip for you to collect at class and hand in with your payment.

Remember this week and next week (weeks commencing 4th and 12th August)…

No Tighter Assets on Mondays or Friday Fitness class.

These following classes ARE running…

Monday Night: 7.30pm Cardio Fit

Tuesday Night: 6.30pm Beach Body Workout, 7.30pm Dance Fit

Thursday Night: 6.15pm Contemporary Stretch, 7.30pm DYBO

Lots of new routines and session content this week so plenty to keep you motivated and inspired, as well as fit and fabulous!

One to one services continue as usual.

I have been speaking with some of you about healthy salady type recipes – I know that we can run out of ideas so I’m sharing my Pesto recipe. It’s fab with chicken, fish, halloumi, or veggies.

I prefer it quite coarse but if you like it smoother, put it in a food processor/blender

50 grams toasted pine nuts
Large bunch basil
50 grams parmesan
150 mls olive oil
2 crushed garlic gloves
Blitz together and coat or mix in with your meat/veggie option. For a low carb meal serve with salad or if you are a carb fan, mix with your favourite pasta!

Enjoy.

Have a fab week,
Love ya!

Helen

These are not just any fitness classes but somewhere where you are really made feel part of a club. The stretch class has given me back flexibility that I thought I'd lost forever and the 'DYBO' class is quite simply ‘fantastic’. I hate to miss either.
