…until Christmas!

I find this time of year a bit weird. Unlike the post-Christmas months, which really drag, this time of year wizzes by and before you know it we are thrust in to ‘party season’. Are you prepared to get prepared?

I had a really busy weekend travelling up to Scotland to caddy for Steve for his birthday Golfing weekend, getting back late last night after that very long drive home down the M6 last night. Thank goodness for a movie on the iPad, a game of Name That Tune and social media keeping me updated with the Strictly results!

It was all worth it as Steve had a great birthday, which is just what he needed after a tough month with One Pro Cycling.

 

So to the weeks ahead, read through to end please – important information!

Freestyle Fitness Yoga Fridays – new course! The season has definitely changed and we are well in to Autumn therefore I will be evolving the content of the class to accommodate this to support our physical and psychological needs as they change through the seasons.

I will run this class until the end of November (and beyond if there is sufficient demand)

Dates: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 November 6.30-7.15pm (you have time to get your class in and still go out!)

Ski Fit?

Would you like to attend a pre-ski season Ski Fit training class – it’s excellent preparation for the slopes but equally a fantastically effective cardio and whole body work out if you don’t Ski? (It’s still one of the best thigh, especially inner thigh, and butt workouts I know)

 

Free Gut Health Talk!

Research has shown that There are many major and minor diseases that are caused or exasperated by poor gut health. I’m dedicated to inform as many folks as I can about how to repair and maintain a healthy gut biome. Former attendees have achieved amazing physical, psychological and aesthetic results since embarking upon my Gut health protocol!

 

I’m giving a free gut health talk on Saturday 20thOctober 2-3.30pm (I request a donation to Macmillan Cancer care – I support of those who are affected by cancer). There are only 3 spaces left, I keep these talks small so I can give time to questions.

 

DYBO Christmas Dinner

I’m currently looking for suitable venues for a fabulous DYBO night out, on Friday 14th December. I’m waiting to hear back for some venues, let me know if you would like to come along or have any ideas.

Gut Friendly Apricot and Sesame Seed Protein bar (from BBC Good Food page)

Ingredients

  • 140g dried apricot
  • 40g oats
  • 40g desiccated coconut
  • 25g sunflower seed
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 15g dried cranberries
  • 3 tbsp hemp protein powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

 

Method

  1. Purée apricots in a food processor with 150ml boiling water and the oats, then scrape the mixture into a bowl. Toast coconut, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds in a non-stick pan over a low heat, then stir into the apricots with the cranberries, hemp powder and chia seeds to make a thick paste.
  2. Roll into a long log on a sheet of cling film. Wrap tightly, chill and then slice thinly to serve. Will keep in the fridge for two weeks

I was originally refered to Helen in 1998 by a Chiropractor, following on going back problems from years of competitive tennis.  Helen put together a programme to improve my flexibiity, posture and core strength, and in conjunction with regular sports massage (from Helen) and Chiropractic treatment, totally cleared up my lower back pain.  I have continued regular treatment over the last 13 years to maintain a healthy back and have had minimal problems since.  Last October (2010) I ruptured my achilles tendon playing football, and following surgery Helen and Steve were able to provide me with support and guidance throughout my recuperation.  Ten months on I am back playing tennis and football and training to the maximum at Bodyblitz (one of Helen's classes)!!
